Die vierde Sybokhaar veiling van die 2023 somer seisoen het op 4 April in Port Elizabeth plaas gevind. Daar was 110 201 kg op aanbod waarvan 93% verkoop is. Die aanbod het uit goeie kwaliteit sybokhaar bestaan waarvan 77% RMS gesertifiseerd was. Kleinbokkie haar daal met 4% en jong bokhaar daal met 6%, fyn groot bok haar daal met 3% en sterk grootbokhaar daal met 4% onderskeidelik. Die gemiddelde markaanwyser daal met 4% in vergelyking met vorige veiling en sluit op R379.46/kg. Die vernaamste redes vir die daling is die sterker SA geld eenheid wat 4% sterker was as die vorige veiling en swakker kompetisie tussen kopers huise. Die OVK Bin span het weereens hulle werk goed vermag deur ‘n rekord somer seisoen bin prys van R800/kg vir ‘n baal BSFFK te behaal. Die produsente in die lot was CM Barry Testamentêre Trust en The PC Marais Sons Family Trust. OVK produsent HJ Nel van Albany het ‘n baal ASFFK van 24.4 mikron verkoop vir R850/kg en die koper was VBC. Dit was die hoogste prys vir die algehele veiling, wat behaal was in die veilings lokaal. The fourth Mohair auction of the 2023 summer season took place on the 4th of April in Port Elizabeth. There was 110 201 kg on offer of which 93% was sold. The supply consisted of good quality mohair of which 77% was RMS certified. Kid mohair decreased by 4% and young goats decreased by 6%, fine Adults decreased by 3% and strong adults decreased by 4% respectively. The average market indicator decreased by 4% compared to the previous auction and closed at R379.46/kg. The main reasons for the decrease are the stronger SA currency which was 4% stronger than the previous auction and weaker competition between buyers houses. The OVK Bin team once again excelled by obtaining a record summer season bin price of R800/kg for a bale of BSFFK. The producers in the lot were CM Barry Testamentary Trust and The PC Marais Sons Family Trust. OVK producer HJ Nel from Albany sold a bale of 24.4 micron ASFFK for R850/kg and the buyer was VBC.
