Kern doel van die pos

Die identifisering van nuwe IT tegnologiese geleenthede, asook die bestuur en koördinering van IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte, vir doeleindes van die instandhouding, ontwikkeling en implementering van moderne sagtewarestelsels vir die OVK groep.

Minimum Vereistes:

• Toepaslike Baccalaureus graad of soortgelyke tersiêre kwalifikasie of ondervinding in IT sagtewareontwikkeling;
• Toepaslike kwalifikasie of ondervinding in finansiële rekeningkunde;
• Vaardigheid in Microsoft Project of soortgelyke projekbestuur hulpmiddels;
• Minimum 10 jaar ondervinding in sagtewareontwikkeling;
• Minimum 3 jaar bestuur of soortgelyke ondervinding rakende IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte.

Vaardighede:

• Uitstekende kommunikasie- en taalvaardighede in Afrikaans en Engels;
• Uitstekende organisatoriese en projekbestuur vaardighede;
• Bewese ondervinding rakende die skep van gebruikers- en sagteware integrasie koppelvlakke is ‘n vereiste;
• Ondervinding rakende sagtewareontwikkeling in COBOL en die IBM-i bedryfstelsel sal voordelig wees;
• Vorige ondervinding in ‘n agri-besigheidsomgewing sal voordelig wees;
• Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede en die vermoë om ‘n span te kan lei en bestuur en in ‘n span saam te werk;
• Sterk analitiese vermoëns en die vermoë om onafhanklik te funksioneer.

Verantwoordelikhede:

• Inisiëring en bestuur van IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte deur die evaluering en monitering van Bedryf prioriteite, die toekenning van IT prioriteite en toedeling daarvan aan IT programmeerders, asook die produktiewe en effektiewe aanwending van IT hulpbronne;
• Koördinering en beplanning van IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte, insluitend die goedkeuring en finalisering van tegniese spesifikasies;
• Koördinering en monitering van toetsing rakende die implementering van IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte;
• Skakeling met Bedryf rakende IT sagtewareontwikkelings projekte.

Main purpose of the position

The identification of new IT technological opportunities, as well as the management and coordination of IT software development projects, for the purposes of the maintenance, development and implementation of modern software systems for the OVK group.

Minimum Requirements:       

• Appropriate Bachelor's degree or similar tertiary qualification or experience in IT software development;
• Appropriate qualification or experience in financial accounting;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar project management tools;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software development;
• Minimum 3 years management or similar experience regarding IT software development projects.

Skills:

• Excellent communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English;
• Excellent organisational and project management skills;
• Proven experience in creating user and software integration interfaces is a requirement;
• Experience regarding software development in COBOL and the IBM-i operating system would be beneficial;
• Previous experience in an agri-business environment would be beneficial;
• Excellent people skills and the ability to lead and manage a team and work together in a team;
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to function independently.

Responsibilities:

• Instigation and management of IT software development projects through the evaluation and monitoring of Business priorities, the determination of IT priorities and allocation thereof to IT programmers, as well as the productive and effective utilisation of IT resources;
• Coordination and planning of IT software development projects, including the approval and finalisation of technical specifications;
• Coordination and monitoring of testing regarding the implementation of IT software development projects;
• Liaising with Business regarding IT software development projects.
