MARKANALISE

Die vierde veiling van die 2025 somerseisoen het op 15 April 2025 in Port Elizabeth plaasgevind, met ’n totale aanbod van 197 832 kg. Hiervan is 99% suksesvol verkoop.Die aanbod het hoofsaaklik uit goeie gehalte bokhaar bestaan, waarvan 82% gesertifiseer is volgens die Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS), wat OVK en die bedryf se volgehoue fokus op etiese en volhoubare produksie beklemtoon. Opmerklik het nie alle kopershuise aktief aan die veiling deelgeneem nie. Twee kopershuise het 91% van die totale volume aangekoop. Die mark is beïnvloed deur onsekerheid ná onlangse tariefverhogings deur die Verenigde State, gevolg deur ’n daaropvolgende 90-dae opskorting van hierdie tariewe. Dit het tot wisselvalligheid in beide die geldeenheid en marksentiment gelei, wat handelsomstandighede direk beïnvloed het. Ten spyte van hierdie eksterne druk het die gemiddelde markaanwyser onveranderd gebly in vergelyking met die vorige veiling, en het gesluit op R377.34/kg.

Die hoogste Bin prys op OVK en openbare veiling:

OVK BINS het soos met die vorige veiling, weereens die hoogste prys op beide die OVK- en openbare veiling behaal. ’n 23.3 mikron BSFFK baal is teen ’n uitstekende prys van R745/kg verkoop. Die produsente in hierdie BIN was: Stephan Lategan ( Tweefontein ) en MI. Lord. Die koper was VBC.

Die hoogste Produsente baal op OVK veiling:

Peet de Klerk Familie Trust het 'n ongelooflike CSFFK baal van 23.4 mikron met 'n skoonopbrengs van 97.8% verkoop vir R780/kg.Die koper was VBC. OVK is trots op ons produsente en waardeer hul lojale ondersteuning.

MARKVOORUITSIGTE

OVK bied voorskotte op vesel wat by ons gelewer word, asook produksielenings.  Skakel gerus die OVK Veselkantoor in Port Elizabeth of u Tegniese Veldbeampte vir meer inligting. Vind ook meer uit oor die opwindende nuwe kommissiestruktuur op vesel bemark deur OVK. Produsente word ook herinner aan die lojaliteitskema van OVK, waar boere beloon word met 37.5 sent vir elke kilogram vesel wat deur OVK bemark word.

 MARKET ANALYSIS

The fourth sale of the 2025 summer season took place in Port Elizabeth on 15 April 2025, with a total offering of 197 832 kg. Of this, 99% was successfully sold. The offering consisted predominantly of good quality mohair, with 82% certified under the Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS), reinforcing OVK and the sector’s continued focus on ethical and sustainable production. Buyer participation was limited, with not all buyers competing actively. Notably, two buyers accounted for 91% of the total volume purchased. The market was influenced by uncertainty following recent tariff increases implemented by the United States, and the subsequent 90-day suspension of these tariffs. This created volatility in both currency and market sentiment, which directly impacted trading conditions.  Despite these external pressures, the average market indicator remained unchanged from the previous sale, closing at R377.34/kg.

The highest Bin price at OVK and public auction:

As with the previous sale, OVK BINS once again achieved the highest price on both the OVK and public auctions. A 23.3 micron BSFFK bale was sold at an exceptional price of R745/kg. The producers of this bin lot was: Stephan Lategan ( Tweefontein ) and MI Lord. The buyer was VBC.

MARKET OUTLOOK
