Die sewende en laaste veiling van die 2024 somerseisoen het op 4 Junie 2024 in Port Elizabeth plaasgevind met 164 372 kg op aanbod, waarvan 98% verkoop is.
Die aanbod het bestaan uit uitstekende individuele skeersels wat goeie mededinging tussen die kopershuise uitgelok het, veral vir die fyner segmente van die mark. 90% van die aanbod het uit RMS-gesertifiseerde sybokhaar bestaan.
Alhoewel die Suid-Afrikaanse geldeenheid swakker teenoor die Dollar verhandel het, het die vraag na beter kwaliteit sybokhaar daartoe gelei dat die gemiddelde markaanwyser met 2% afgeneem het om te sluit op R384.21/kg. Kleinbokkiehaar daal met 2%. Jongbokhaar toon ‘n daling van 3%. Fyn grootbokhaar daal met 2%. Sterk grootbokhaar daal met 1% teenoor die vorige veiling.
Die hoogste bin prys op OVK veiling was ‘n baal BSFFK wat verkoop het vir R810/kg. Die produsente in die lot was: PS.Hayward en A.Jordaan. Die koper was VBC.
Nuwe Somer seisoen rekord prys!
Die uitmuntende baal van FEC Farming (PTY) LTD van Willowmore het gesorg vir die hoogtepunt op die veiling met ‘n baal BSFFK van 23 mikron wat verkoop het vir R1046/kg op die OVK veiling. Dit was ook ‘n nuwe somerseisoen rekord. Die koper was VBC.

The seventh and last auction of the 2024 summer season took place on 4 June 2024 in Port Elizabeth with 164 372 kg on offer, of which 98% were sold.
The offer consisted of excellent individual clips which caused good competition between the buyers, especially for the finer segments of the market. 90% of the offering consisted of RMS certified mohair.
Although the South African currency traded weaker against the Dollar, demand for better quality mohair resulted in the average market indicator decreasing by 2% to close at R384.21/kg. Kid mohair decreased by 2%. Young goat mohair decreased by 3%. Fine adult mohair decreased by 2%. Strong adult mohair decreased with 1% compared to the previous auction.
Highest bin price at OVK auction was a bale BSFFK which sold for R810/kg. The producers in the lot were: PS.Hayward and A.Jordaan. The buyer was VBC.
