VOORUITSIGTE

FORECAST
Despite the strengthening of the Rand, against the most influential currencies, the South African wool market still managed to improve. A contributing factor to the improvement is the positive trend in the Australian wool market. The largely sideways movement and slight improvement should commence with the beginning of the new season, since the world economy started to recover. The receival of wool in the brokers’ stores this week is 1.2% higher, compared to the same time of the previous season.
Sustainable certified (RWS) good quality Merino wool, again enjoyed good attention on the auction and saw healthy competition amongst buyers. We invite farmers to contact OVK for assistance in the certification process. The current wool season has come to an end and the 2021/22 season will kick off on 11 August 2021.
