Goeie mededinging tussen al die kopershuise / Good competition between all the buyers.

MARKANALISE

MARKVOORUITSIGTE

So berig Etienne Bezuidenhout, OVK Sybokhaarbestuurder.

MARKET ANALYSIS

The fifth Mohair auction of the 2021 Summer season went well with good competition between all the buyers. Due to the large volume of hair that was offered, the auction was held over two days.

This brought the total sales to 98.5% with a market indicator of R396.38/kg which is 2.3% better.

The best prize of the day at OVK went to Jacobskraal Boerdery from Beaufort west at R850.00/kg for a bale of Summer Kid ! This bale average style of hair tested 23.9 microns with a clean yield of 82.1%. Suedwolle was the buyer.

MARKET OUTLOOK

The outlook for the coming season is that seed-price prices will continue to be under pressure and that young goat hair and finer types (all fine types) will receive good attention, and that prices at current levels should trade sideways. The sixth auction of the 2021 Summer season, will be held on 25th May 2021, in Port Elizabeth. So reports Etienne Bezuidenhout, OVK Mohair Manager.
