Die 26ste wolveiling van die 2020/21 seisoen, het op 17 Maart plaasgevind. Die Cape Wools Merino aanwyser het met 6.0% gedaal teenoor die vorige veiling en teen 'n skoonprys van R162.23/kg gesluit. Die Australiese EMI het ook met 3.0% verswak teenoor die vorige veiling. Die Rand het, ooreenstemmend dieselfde tyd van die vorige veiling, 2.4% sterker verhandel teen die VSA Doller en ook 2.2% versterk teen die Euro. Die grootste daling van 8.0%, was in die 22.5 mikron segment. Standard Wool SA het op hierdie veiling die grootste hoeveelheid bale gekoop, gevolg deur Lempriere SA, Tianyu SA en Modiano SA. Daar is in totaal 9 886 bale aangebied, waarvan 91.9% verkoop is.
Op die OVK veiling is 2 820 bale aangebied waarvan 90.3% verkoop is. Die hoogste prys op die OVK veiling, van R168.00/kg, is behaal vir ‘n 1 baal lot BFFY van 16.9 mikron, uit die skeersel van CD Kruger Jnr, Burgersdorp. Die koper was Standard Wool SA. Baie geluk met hierdie prestasie!
VOORUITSIGTE
Die daling in die SA wolmark die week, kan toegeskryf word aan 'n navolging van die verswakking van die Australiese mark en die versterking van die Rand teenoor die vernaamste geldeenhede. Wol ontvang in die makelaars se store hierdie week, is 7.1% laer vergeleke die ooreenstemmende tyd van die vorige seisoen.
Volhoubaar gesertifiseerde (RWS), goeie kwaliteit Merinowol, het weereens goeie aandag geniet op die veiling en gesorg vir gesonde kompetisie tussen kopers. Sertifisering raak meer belangrik en produsente kan gerus kennis neem van die neiging. Skakel gerus met OVK om u by te staan in die sertifiseringsproses. Produsente moet kennis neem dat die laaste wolinweegdatum van die seisoen op 12 Mei is. Dit is vir katalogus CA34. Die volgende wolveiling is geskeduleer vir 24 Maart 2021, waar sowat 6 398 bale aangebied sal word.
OVK bied voorskotte op vesel wat by ons gelewer word, asook produksielenings. Skakel gerus die OVK Veselkantoor in Port Elizabeth of u Tegniese Veldbeampte vir meer inligting. Vind ook meer uit oor die opwindende nuwe kommissiestruktuur op vesel bemark deur OVK. Produsente word ook herinner aan die lojaliteitskema van OVK, waar boere beloon word met 23.9 sent vir elke kilogram vesel wat deur OVK bemark word.
MARKET ANALYSES
The 26th wool auction of the 2020/21 season, took place on 17 March. The Cape Wools Merino indicator traded 6.0% lower, compared to the previous sale and closed at a clean price of R162.23/kg. The Australian EMI also decreased by 3.0%, compared to the previous sale. The Rand traded 2.4% stronger against the US Dollar and also strengthened by 2.2% to the Euro, compared to the previous auction. The largest decrease this week of 8.0% was in the 22.5 micron segment. Standard Wool SA was the major buyer on this auction, followed by Lempriere SA, Tianyu SA and G. Modiano SA. A total of 9 886 bales were on offer, of which 91.9% was sold.
On the OVK auction 2 820 bales were offered, of which 90.3% was sold. The highest price on the OVK auction, of R168.00/kg, was achieved for a 1 bale lot BFFY of 16.9 microns, from the clip of CD Kruger Jnr from Burgersdorp. The buyer was Standard Wool SA. Congratulations on this achievement!
FORECAST
The decrease in the SA wool market this week can be attributed to a following of the decrease in the Australian market, as well as the strengthening of the Rand against the most important currencies. The receival of wool in the brokers’ stores this week is 7.1% lower, compared to the same time of the previous season.
Sustainable certified (RWS) good quality Merino wool, again enjoyed good attention on the auction and saw healthy competition amongst buyers. Certification is becoming more important and producers must take note of this trend. We invite farmers to contact OVK for assistance in the certification process. Producers must take note that the last wool weigh-in date for this season, will be on 12 May. That is for catalogue CA34. The next wool auction is scheduled for 24 March 2021, where roughly 6 398 bales will be on offer.
