MARKANALISE

Daar is in totaal 12599 bale aangebied, waarvan 96.1% verkoop is. Die koper was Standard Wool. Baie geluk met die prestasie!

VOORUITSIGTE

Entstof is tans beskikbaar by u naaste OVK tak. FORECAST

This week saw the SA wool market gaining ground, compared to the previous auction. This, is spite of a stronger Rand. The volumes of wool received in the stores of the brokers this week, are nearly 89% lower compared to the same week of the previous season. The real effect of the ongoing drought, in large production areas, is reflecting now. Reports of good rain showers were received this week from wide spread regions in the Northern, as well as the Southern Cape, which are suffering under mentioned circumstances. OVK again want to invite our producers to contact us if any advances or financing is needed, to bridge this difficult period in areas which still suffer from severe droughts. OVK is committed to assist our producers in good as well as difficult times, to the best of our ability.

Producers must still see to, in the light of the renewed animal health situation, due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease, that focus is placed on bio-security and ensure that flock health enjoys priority and that herds are protected against diseases such as Rift Valley Fever. In the regions where good rains occurred, the chances of renewed outbreaks are very probable. Vaccines are available at your nearest OVK branch. Also secure, especially in the drought-stricken areas, that focus is put on the general health of flocks and that the feeding status must enjoy priority, in order to optimise production and reproduction. By the application of strategic mineral and vitamin supplements, the immune systems of production animals as well as lambs can be stimulated, which will increase production and reproduction. It is also very important that producers must familiarise them of the animal health status of animals bought from other areas, to ensure that diseases like Foot and Mouth disease, as well as resistant parasites are not brought onto disease free farms. That could cause enormous negative economic results. The next wool auction is scheduled for 16 January 2020 where 11 067 bales will be on offer.
